Pixie's Snippets Playground - Week 119

And yet another week shot by in the Playground, with 65 entries! Thank you all so much for coming to play and also for making the Playground such a fun place. I get almost as much fun from your comments as you hop about each other's blogs as the lovely makes you bring with you! :)

This is my snippets card for this week, made over a few days just a bit at a time:
And a closer look, at an angle, to see the shimmer:
I used:

- 6" x 6" square white card blank

- plain turquoise and peach backing card from the snippets folder

- a whole sheet of patterned paper from Prima's 'Firefly' paper stack

- the image is LOTV, called 'Destiny's Moon', stamped using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink pad and coloured with Pro Markers and Polychromos Pencils. One trick I tried for the first time was to outline the image using a 'Pastel Beige' Pro Marker to take away the harsh contrast between the black image outline and the white card I stamped on. The fairy's wings and parts of her dress were tickled with clear 'Wink of Stella' - first time I've used this and I love it! Oh, and a covering of Glossy Accents on the 'gazing globe'

- snippets of peach organza ribbon, I layered two snippets across the card on top of one another for more density and then tied a double bow round

- flowers are a mix of Wild Orchid Crafts roses and a turquoise Prima rose, adhered using 'Crafters Pick Incredibly Tack Glue'

- sentiment is stamped using SU's 'Baja Breeze' and a stamp from Kaisercraft's 'Life Sentiments' set. Then punched out using SU's 'Large Oval' punch and layered onto a snippet of peach card, which had been punched using SU's 'Scallop Oval' punch

- finishing touch - Josy Rose turquoise star shaped nail heads in three corners of the image and one on the sentiment

For those of you who might have been looking for Josy Rose nail heads and the heat wand - here's the link to where I buy mine from.

Onto this week's picks:

Oh wow, I do so love the raindrops here - brought to the Playground by Cornelia.

Sam made not one but two of these absolutely beautiful recycled matchbox 'gardens'. That's a LOT of patience!

Jules always brings us two cards, one is always a Christmas card but it was this beauty that totally blew my socks off.

Isn't this such a fun card, made by Bonnie?! I do so love those cheeky dancing 'Bunny girl chicks' :)

Pat made some fabulous 'faux tiles' for this card - there's a great description of how to do it over on Pat's blog too.

We had some stunning 'white on white' cards this week - you can check them out on last week's thumbnail links here. This one by Judy was the first one I spotted, and her blog post (written by Dio a very clever cat) is hilarious.

Gosh I do love this red, black and white card, made by Carol L - so elegant and see those teeny snippets popped into the band?

As I always say, you all brought so many beautiful makes to the Playground - thank you so much for joining in - you really are such an inspiration!

Aoops, almost forgot, we have two new playmates this week so will you please welcome:

If you haven't already been to say 'Hi' to our new playmates, it would be lovely if you can find the time to do so. Please come back and play soon, we're a friendly bunch!

And the winner of the eight sheets of Penny Black Stickeroos from last week is:
Congratulations Sam! I know where you live and will post them off to you ASAP.

So onto this coming week's prize:
It's a set of four LOTV 'fairy' stamps plus a lovely glimmery Wink of Stella clear brush pen just like the one I used today. One stamp is 'Destiny's Moon', the same as I used today but the others are trickier to show you, 'cos I guess you know that LOTV stamps come unmounted and without an image insert. I only bought an additional 'Destiny's Moon' to keep for myself (trying to cut down on stamp purchases here, albeit not very successfully, sigh) so can't show you stamped images of the other three. But, I did manage to find some thumbnail images to show you - LOTV are quite rightly protective of their stamps so these are just little thumbnails that I found when they announced the 'end of these fairies' sale a week or so ago.

Autumn Calling

Blue Haze
Candlelight Delight

It's a lovely little stamp set, you do get all four of course along with the Wink of Stella clear brush pen.

As usual, the snippets challenge will run for one week and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 12th April and will open again at midnight UK time on the same day. Maximum of three entries and please say 'No thank you' in a comment if you wish to still play but not be the winner of the prize. Of course you can say no thanks to any part of the prize and I'd just do a second draw for the remainder if your name comes out first.

Mr Linky is below - please let me know if you have any problems linking, I can sort it out for you quite quickly and am always happy to do so.

Have a great week - keep those snippets coming :) Who's up to organise the Easter Egg Hunt in the Playground in a couple of weeks then?

Di (and a wave from Parsnip)

  7. Hi Di!!
What a B-E-A-UTIFUL card you have made! I love it, really love the fairy stamps too! I started colouring my LOTV stamps again yesterday, unfortunately I have neglected them for a while but I am back in full swing again. Thank you for the chance to win such gorgeous goodies. I am hoping to try and enter the playground at least once a month if not more! Going to get my crafty butt in gear!
    Hope you're well,

  8. Fab card and gorgeous samples from the playground again. I didn't have chance to play last week as I seemed to spend all my spare time sorting out my craftroom. Somebody really messy has been in and destroyed it when I wasn't looking.
Hopefully will be back with you this week. Hope you got my email. Hotmail have locked my out for a month so I'm not getting any mail at the moment.

  14. Hi Di, sorry AWOL the last week or so but decided I'd throw my name in the hat this week although my coloured snippety bits are no where near as adventurous as the other entries here. Must hang my head in shame at such an amazing line up. Loving your card and I've also just introduced myself to wink of stella and it's fantastic to add that delicate little shimmer. Hmmm. Sarah x
